

Dr Chinyere Ori Elom a specialist in the field of Guidance and Counselling and with over 20 years teaching experience in the University. She joined AE-FUNAI in 2016 as an academic staff in the Faculty of Education having worked for 13 years at Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki. She is currently the acting Director, Centre for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETeL), AE-FUNAI and the President AE-FUNAI Women Association.
Dr. Elom holds a B.Ed degree in Education Guidance and Counselling from Ebonyi State University Abakaliki, Nigeria. She obtained a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counselling from Ebonyi State University. She holds a PhD in Guidance and Counselling from the same University. As a fellow at the Center of Climate Change and development Dr Elom will explore the psychological impact of climate change impact on vulnerable populations and the role that counselling can play in the adaptation to climate shocks and variabilities. She will also contribute to the workstream on climate education in Ebonyi State.
She has attended several conferences, training workshops and programmes both within and outside Nigeria. She was a member of the LOC which organized the First International Conference of Faculty of Education, AE-FUNAI in 2018.
She has published some papers in peer reviewed outlets. Her areas of research interest cut across Guidance and Counselling, education leadership management and women empowerment. She is teachable and has a good team spirit.
