Ukȧmȧ urgently seeks the services of consultants to produce a set of concise (about 5000 words) high quality synthetic scoping papers on energy transitions and just energy partnerships in Africa. The papers will offer insightful analysis and recommendations on what a credible just energy transition partnership between Europe and Africa could look like, and steps and conditions that would be needed for achieve such credible partnerships.
The scoping papers will consider the questions from a continental perspective and offer a deep dive analysis into three select countries – Senegal, Nigeria and South Africa including a mapping of key stakeholders in those countries. The papers will offer recommendations that could guide EU and African policy makers in achieving fair and equitable energy transitions deals that will be mutually beneficial for the people pf the two continents. For the South African case, the paper will explore lessons learnt from the Just Energy Transitions partnership deal struck at COP26 and the conditions needed to ensure successful implementation.
